Earth Day is celebrated at CBD Punjab house

   

On April 22 over 1 billion people in 193 countries celebrate Earth Day to mark the anniversary of the modern environmental moment that started in 1970. Lahore Central Business District Development Authority (LCBDDA) also known as Central Business District (CBD Punjab) has played an important role in making the environment nature friendly, that is why most of the initiatives taken by CBD Punjab are ecofriendly.

The Team of CBD Punjab celebrated Earth Day at CBD House Punjab by switching off the lights and air conditioners of CBD Punjab house for 60 minutes as a gesture of energy-saving and curbing the amount of CFC gases that are released into the air. CBD Punjab has always taken dynamic steps to contribute to a healthy environment and save nature as much as it is possible.

Previously CBD Punjab has planted 5000+ trees and relocated many trees instead of cutting them down during the construction of the parking plaza and main boulevard of CBD Punjab. A provisioning of 12,000 tree has already been given to PHA, to be planted in Lahore.

On this occasion Executive Director Commercial LCBDDA, Mohammad Omer said that “preserving the environment and contributing to saving mother earth is the core responsibility of everyone. We here at CBD Punjab ensure environmentally safe and eco-friendly initiatives in our development and construction projects. CBD Punjab has pledged to dynamically contribute to making the environment clean and green. I will request each and every individual to do small bits like tree plantation, energy saving, minimal usage of plastic, and recycling to make our environment green and breathable for our future generations”.

Whether it is marking 100% growth of trees, proposing of LNG-based power plant, or usage of treated and filtered sewerage water for horticulture every step taken by CBD Punjab is a patent that authority is actively taking part in preserving the environment and making mother earth clean and green.

Beaconhouse saves 3,083 tonnes in carbon emissions, from successfully running 40 facilities on solar energy

    

Beaconhouse Group, Pakistan’s largest network of private educational institutions and a host of diverse businesses, is successfully running 40 of the network’s facilities on solar energy. Students of 26 Beaconhouse campuses that have been installed with solar panels also conducted research projects on solar energy’s impact on reducing harmful air pollution, use of non-renewable energy, and cutting electricity costs.

The grade 8 student research projects explored significant controllable factors that improve the performance of photovoltaic panels, and saw participation from approximately 1,800 students. This announcement commemorates International Earth Day 2022, celebrated on April 22nd, aimed at raising awareness on protecting the planet, reducing our carbon footprint, and adopting sustainable and environmentally friendly business practices.

Installed by Beacon Energy Ltd. (BEL), a venture of the Beaconhouse Group creating renewable energy sources, the solar panels installed at schools and other buildings under Beaconhouse have altogether achieved a carbon offset of 3,083 Tonnes in the past two years. This significant reduction in carbon emissions is equivalent to the impact created by a plantation of more than 6,200 trees.

As commented by Nassir Kasuri, Executive Director at Beaconhouse, and Chief Executive Officer of BEL, ”Coupled with rapid population growth and urbanisation, Pakistan’s per capita CO2 emissions stood at 1.06 trillion[1] in 2020, which has been an exponential increase as compared to 20 years ago. Already in the top ten2 of most impacted countries by climate change, it is imperative that Pakistan adopts an approach that balances sustainability with the needs of our rapidly increasing population. At Beaconhouse, as a socially responsible organisation, we take mitigating the impacts of climate change as a top priority and are constantly implementing sustainable practices and policies to reduce our carbon footprint in every day operations.”

To limit the use of non-renewable energy, BEL is working towards increasing the use of photovoltaic solar panels in Pakistan’s energy mix, which is a novel technology with a low unit cost and a very low carbon footprint.

With the installation of these solar panels across multiple institutions of Beaconhouse network, the organization is becoming a catalyst for positive change while investing in sustainable and responsible business practices.

In a bid to spreading smiles CEO Bagallery visits Sahara village

   

Bagallery team visited them and had Iftar with the Sahara Village family. At this occasion Salman Sattar CEO Bagallery also distributed gifts amongst the residents of Sahara Village and listened to the stories which teach us more about life and its ups and downs than anything.  The people of Sahara Village were overwhelmed with this visit wearing a wide smile on their faces.

People at Sahara Village are away from their families thus, missing out on iftaris where the entire family sits together for their feast. The Bagallery team planned a visit to the Sahara Village to be a part of their family for a day. The team distributed clothes and had an Iftar with the residents of Sahara Village.

‘Maro Mujhe Maro’ guy, Momin Saqib joins TikTok

    

Pakistani social media star turned drama star Momin Saqib joined TikTok in a style by mimicking Bollywood star Shahrukh Khan (SRK) dialogue.

Momin who got famous when his video following the defeat in the semi-final of T20 World Cup 2021 went viral, gained 33,000 followers, 180,000 likes and nearly three million views on his first five posted videos.

In a video where he informed his fans that he is now on TikTok also expressed his affection for TikTok through the famous SRK dialogue with the background music of his famous film. He said, “Aa gaya hoon, aa gaya hoon TikTok par. Subha uthta hoon to TikTok, sham ko sota hoon to videos lagata hoon’.

He thanked all the fans for loving him on other platforms by saying, “Tum logon ne mujhse bohat pyar kiya hay, har jaga bohat pyar dia hay.”
